“+Addictions_” explores gambling addiction through a visual narrative as a short film, Throughout the story the protagonist’s addiction grows, the risk of self-destruction is evident, leading to an inevitable downfall.
This short film was created for a final course project, where, I aim to grasp the viewers feeling towards this type of addiction, as it seems to be a growing issue everyday.
Creative Process
I usually plan every shot in advance, but for this project, I embraced a more spontaneous approach to fuel my creativity.
This spontaneous approach comes from my way of doing some projects, which is improvising and free styling at the moment of recording. It can drastically improve a movie by capturing a feeling that can’t be planned out.
Several days of planning, executing and finishing led to the final result, where I am very thankful, and happy with the final result.
Motivations
My motivations for this project orbit around my goal of becoming a self-taught director. Ever since I discovered cinematography, my passion for creating artistic stuff has grown on me.
Every time I pick up a camera I feel inspired and motivated to create something, even if it’s a 2 minute short-film. I really like doing this, so, being able to develop one singular project with the theme of my choice is very exciting.

With the intention of helping people overcome their addictions
I’ve decided to create an app where people can track how long they have been clean from their addictions.
It also has a reward system, where people can get several rewards, and unlock features that give the user more customization.
